UltraSPARC-T1 - Niagara

Finally! A new SPARC processor from Sun has been announced yesterday, aimed to make a mini-revolution on the market.

The main advantages of a new series is a multi-core design (8 cores, 4 threads per core) and a low power consumption. Both these features will help customers greatly reduce their servers maintenance cost.

It is promised that we will see new servers based on Niagara by the end of this year..
