Solaris 10: tips and tricks for system administration ::About me and my Solaris 10 blogHi! My name is Gleb Reys, I'm a Solaris systems administrator living and working in Dublin, Ireland. I'm 26, and I've got 8 years of UNIX administration experience, so I guess that justifies calling my UNIX interests a real passion :)
This is Solaris 10 blog. I'm updating it since November 2004, and I document here most of the sysadmin problems and solutions I come across. I also like trying all the latest and greatest features of Solaris 10, and for quite some time I've been using OpenSolaris for my experiments. Apart from Solaris administration, I enjoy occasional PHP coding, so I'm a great admirer of the Serendipity Blog Engine, for which I even translated the interface into Russian. If it's your first time here, these entries might get you started: The beginning of everything - my first entry which gives you details of my Solaris background What's new in Solaris 10 - a quick and short intro on Solaris 10 new features Most popular categories of my blog are: DTrace - quick tutorials on some of the DTrace (dynamic instrumentation in Solaris) techniques ZFS - my notes on the new revolutionary ZFS filesystem Solaris Zones (Containers) - my experiments with zones administration All the rest navigation is done through the categories menu you see on the left sidepanel. There is also a plan to have separate index pages for resources on various topics, so right now I already have a Useful resources on DTrace page ready. I'm constantly working on improving visitors experience for my blog, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know by leaving comments. Also, if you're a Solaris 10 fan and would like to share your experience with others through my blog, just let me know and I'll see if I can post a link to you. Thanks, and I hope you'll find this blog interesting and useful |
